HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Ocean safety officials are warning beachgoers after box jellyfish were spotted at two Oahu beaches Sunday.

The Honolulu Ocean Safety Department issued an advisory around 11:25 a.m. after box jellyfish were observed at Waikiki and Pokai Bay.

Beachgoers are advised to check with lifeguards for the latest conditions before entering the water.

Anyone experiencing an emergency should call 911.
